*COMPLETED* SSC CCLE Maintenance and Upgrade on Tuesday, June 19th

UPDATED 6-19-18: As of 11am today, the SSC Web group completed our upgrade to Moodle 3.4. All class sites should be operational, but if you run into any issues, please email help@ssc.ucla.edu. We appreciate your patience!

UPDATED 6-4-18: SSC Web group will be upgrading to Moodle 3.4 on Tuesday, June 19th between 10am to 2pm. During this time, the class sites (http://moodle2.sscnet.ucla.edu) will be experiencing intermittent service disruptions but we will be working hard to minimize our outage time.

We will also be performing a quick server maintenance to prepare for the upgrade on Monday, June 18th from 10pm to 11pm. We don’t anticipate a major disruption of service during this time.

Moodle.org released Moodle 3.4 late last year. Social Sciences Computing and the CCLE Community have been working to prepare both CCLE systems for upgrade to Moodle 3.4. This includes collaborating with talented students designers to clean up the organization on the CCLE Systems.

What does this mean for you?

  • Save button when adding new roles for users on a site for visual confirmation
  • Navigation added to the bottom of content to make navigation between activities and resources faster
  • Ability to increase the content area
  • Cleaned up interface
  • Ability to select file types allowed for Assignment activities
  • Increased security

Our scheduled upgrade date is Tuesday, June 19th. We will also be running routine maintenance on our servers to keep up to date with patches and security. A time frame for the June 19th upgrade will be announced a week before the upgrade but we will be working hard to minimize our outage time.
