In addition to the information below, you can download the manual to learn more about configuring your Barracuda quarantine.

- Whitelist: Type in the individual email address you would like Barracuda to allow, then click the "Add" button.
- Blacklist: Type in the individual email address you would like Barracuda to block, then click the "Add" button.

For Enable Quarantine:
Select "Yes" if you want Barracuda to actively quarantine email messages that the appliance perceives
as SPAM. Select "No" if you do not want Barracuda to actively quarantine email messages, but rather have the appliance insert
"[QUAR]" in the subject line of email messages it perceives as SPAM The Recommended setting is "Yes" because this is one
of the main reasons for setting up server-side spam filtering.
For Notification Interval:
Select "Daily" if you want daily Barracuda SPAM reports (recommended if the email address
receives an enormous amount of SPAM) Select "Weekly" if you want weekly Barracuda SPAM reports
Select "Never" if you never want to see the Barracuda SPAM reports (this is not recommended because SSC encourages our
users to check for false-positives, namely, legitimate email messages categorized as SPAM)
For Notification Address:
The default is the registered email address for Barracuda. You can leave this field empty unless
you wish to send Barracuda SPAM reports to another email address.
Click on the "Save Changes" button after you have made a modification.

For Enable Spam Filtering:
Select "Yes" if you want Barracuda to scan email messages for SPAM Select "No" if you do not
want Barracuda to scan messages for SPAM The recommended setting is "Yes"
For SPAM Scoring:
You can choose to use the System Defaults or configure your own SPAM Scoring system. Using the Defaults: Tag Score –
3.5 (default) means that tag score is taken from external blacklist on the Internet, followed by Bayesian score. Quarantine
Score – 3.5 (default) means that quarantine score is taken from external blacklist on the Internet, followed by Bayesian
score. Block Score – 10 (default) means that all email messages are allowed into Barracuda for processing. Nothing is automatically
blocked to ensure users receive all messages to Barracuda.
Using Custom Settings:
Select "No" under the "Use System Defaults:" section For Tag Score: The lower the number, the
easier it is for email to escape detection as SPAM by Barracuda. As a result, the chance of false positives being tagged
as SPAM is lower. The higher the number, the harder Barracuda will use to scrutinize a piece of email. As a result, the
chance of false positives being tagged as SPAM is higher. For Quarantine Score: The lower the number, the easier it is for
email to escape quarantine by Barracuda. As a result, the chance of false positives being quarantined as SPAM is lower.
The higher the number, the harder Barracuda will use to scrutinize a piece of email for quarantine. As a result, the chance
of false positives being quarantined as SPAM is higher. For Block Score: SSC recommends setting this to "10" because all
email messages pass through to individual Barracuda accounts for analysis. No email is blocked outright when it first reaches
Barracuda.
