Mathcad is a software package combining a powerful technical computing environment centered on real math notation with a flexible, full-featured word processor and presentation tool. Mathcad enables users to enter, edit, and solve equations, and to visualize and communicate results graphically.

New features to Mathcad include:

• Improved computation with new boolean operators, improvements to the 'root' function, special-purpose fitting functions for statistical analysis, new solve block and Odesolve function for solving a differential equation more easily using real math notation, and 19 new functions for financial calculations.
• Better display of math characters and operators in equations.
• New visualization and graphing with 3D QuickPlots to quickly graph a function of two variables, extended 2D plotting capabilities via the Axum component, SmartSketch LE to insert technical drawings that are computationally linked to Mathcad equations.
• Improved document preparation, presentation and publishing.
• Usability enhancements with a new error tracing tool for finding errors in a worksheet, improved support for sharing Mathcad worksheets over a network, and improved Collaboratory for communication with Mathcad users around the world.
